Mine is Jeff Buckley's "Lover, You Should've Come Over". Absolutely amazing song.

I've quite a few faves, among them "everytime you go away" by Paul Young, Pino's fretless never sounded better IMHO http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2M9HrFCVlWg

Dude, Derek and the Dominos - Layla. The classic unrequited love song, and album for that matter.

The Beatles - Something

It would be a beautiful song even without Paul's bassline, but he pushed it over the top. Honorable mentions:

Bill Withers - Ain't No Sunshine
Ben E King - Stand By Me
Mutemath - You Are Mine
Nickel Creek - When You Come Back Down

(caveat: must be the original 1978 version from the Tormato album; I heard a recent -- i.e, from sometime in the past 10 years -- performance from a Yes concert on YouTube and it had none of the qualities which makes "Onward" such a sublime tune...except, or course, for its wonderfully heartfelt lyrics.)

Good choice, but I think Closer by Nine Inch Nails is my favorite.

Prince wrote it. There's a live version of this song on his Greatest Hits 3 CD set from a while back performed by him and the NPG.
