Wheatus "Teenage dirtbag" vs. Shawn Mullins "Lullaby"

anyone else think these two songs sound very similar? (beatbox intro, chord structure, the rhythm of the bassline etc. etc.)

when Teenage dirtbag came out I was reminded of a song that used to get played on GLR a few years ago, but only managed to track down what it was today- Lullaby has been getting some more airplay in the UK recently- a re-release?

did the Wheatus guys admit being influenced by it?
