Is Wheezer's "Why Bother" the same as Talas' "Expert on me?"

I just got a Talas CD in the mail today, and I was listening to it for the first time.

The song "Expert On Me" sounded very familiar to me for some reason. I was trying to figure out why, when I realized it was the Weezer song that someone posted in a thread somewhere that I was remembering.

Am I imagining things, or is Weezer's "Why Bother" very similar to Talas' "Expert On Me?"

Anyone?

Here is the Weezer song:

And the 30 second preview on Amazon gives you enough of the Talas track to pick up the similarities:

just listened to and learned the chord progression of both main parts. you're just imagining things. kind of similar in the chorus due to the emphasis on the downbeat (snare drum in the Talas song/entire band in the Weezer song), but I'm gonna vote "not stolen" on this one...now Coldplay and Joe Satriani...that's a different story.......
