Glen Campbell was a hot Jazz player if you ever see a record call Dylan Jazz Glen and bunch of the LA studio cats of the day played some hot licks on that. Then guys like Cornell Dupree legendary R&B guitarist talks about where he came up with some his really slick rhythm licks and he'll from listening to Country players. Then Wynnoa Judd check her CD's out an you see Steve Cropper and some of the Memphis cats playing.
Then don't forget Country Funk the great Willie Weeks is king of bass down there. Then J.D. Blair the Groove Regulator plays drums for Shaina Twain. A lot of the studio players seem to migrate to Nashville later in their careers. There are some great players in Nashville laying it down.
Country may sound simple, but it's all about good playing.
