Not looking for specific gear or anything per se, but I'm always really intrigued as to how you get this deep dry kinda tone, heard something similar in a few places but this is the best example I've come across.

At a guess alot of it is down to a set of lively flats on a thumpy sounding bass. This isn't really a tone I'm after for any of my playing it just sounds pretty cool to me.
