He's since died, but Lane was a master, IMO. If you liked that one check out the Temporal Analouges of Paradise disc, if you haven't heard it.

Now I come from a R&B/Funk/Jazz background but...damn!! This cat never ceases to amaze me with his skills! Imagine if he was a slapper! Good lawd! It was inevitable he would start hanging out with the jazz guys!

That was very inspirational!

Teaches me two things:

1) I really need to work on my left hand strength/technique
2) If I ever find myself in a situation like his, I hope I can continue to play with even just a slight measure of his skill.
