There's no reason to go and blow $15-20 on *anything* that you haven't heard anymore. With I-Tunes, you can hear at least a 30 second sample of all the tunes (provided they carry the record) before buying a thing.

There's just too much crap out there anymore. Although, to answer the question, I would most likely buy a Wayne Shorter record without hearing it first.

I feel the same way, the only thing that does it for me is Metallica now other then that i really dont care for much of the new stuff out. Do you like Foo Fighters?

The Foo Fighters are great, I probably would buy their albums without listening to them actually.

Its like anything Dave Grohl touches (QOTSA, FF, NIRVANA) is gold, maybe not because of him, but it just seems to be the truth.

As far as Metallica goes..... well lets just say Ive had my fill and Im not going back for seconds.

Peace
Nick

I'll add a vote for Opeth and anything with Devin Townsend.
Anything involving Mike Patton or Trevor Dunn. I'd like to say John Zorn but that man has 100s of albums.
Aphex Twin/AFX/Polygon Window/Caustic Window/etc.
Death
Dillinger Escape Plan
Mastodon
Beck

I have a lot of blind faith in the music I listen to

Oops, how could I forget Opeth. Thanks Stachio!

So I have to add Opeth (or Mikael Akerfeld)
