Wilco's latest- "Sky Blue Sky"

Just got it today and can't stop listening to it. It's a lot more laid back than their others...but WOW! Jeff Tweedy's signature rasp and occasional out-of-tuneness paired with this sensitive group of musicians make for an amazing record. John Stirratt is laying down some real nice lines with just the right amount of embellishment. BTW...I saw Wilco on the "A Ghost is Born" tour and it was probably the best rock show I've ever been to...the backstage passes didn't hurt either Anyway, if you don't already have this album, I recommend it...even if you've never listened to Wilco.

Yeah, I love this album too. Very laid back and a return to the Wilco that made "Being There" and "Wilco A.M." which is not to say that I didn't like "Yankee Hotel Foxtrot" or "A Ghost is Born"

On the album John Stirratt is using his Darkstar equipped Lakland I believe. Not the tone I'd want for the music I do, but it is absolutely perfect for Wilco. I think Nels Cline adds so much to this record's sound. Just incredible guitar work that always manages to be tasteful. I especially like "Impossible Germany".

Oh, and here's a video of one of the tracks left of the album, but which is available as a single: Thanks I Get

Good stuff.

Yeah, Nels plays his a$$ off on this one! There are some tracks on here that are very Beatles inspired as well...good stuff! I have to say though, I think "Yankee" has been my favorite so far. Who knows though...I've been listening to "Ghost" from it's release date and still finding new things I like about it.

+1, very 'Let It Be' era sounding production. I was so stoked when Cline joined the band, I love what he brings. Another great album from one of the best bands out there today. I just love the production on it.
