Will Lee's bass on D'Angelo's "Higher"

I keep looping this cut from d'Angelo's "Brown Sugar" album,
That modern, R&B/gospel fingerstyle stuff really knocks me out!
I love that style, I hear it on alot of gospel stuff,
Real lowdown, growly B string stuff,Lots of tight,quick triplets & ghost notes..

Can anyone suggest some good stuff to listen to if I wanna pick this stuff up?

I guess I think modern gospel and r&b
When I hear this song..

From an old skool perspective-
Aretha Franklin's Young, Gifted & Black w/ Chuck Rainey (check out her cover of "The Long & Winding Road").
Aretha Live At The Fillmore West is also a Classic..."Love The One You're With", etc. All great R&B witha Soul/Gospel/R&B groove.

Wilson Pickett's cover of "Hey Jude" is in the same vibe.
