I made a project of covering 4 of my favorite basslines by Mr. Squire - here's the first:

'America'

WOW! Great technique & nailed the CS sound. Used to do this with my band back in '73 and it is a great workout.

Bloody great, tone, playing, the bass, it's all there!
And to top it all off you look a bit like Geddy in disguise.

What amp/amps are you you using? Any effects?

Excellent Ric tone, really nice playing. Especially on Heart Of The Sunrise.

Now, when are you going to tackle the Close To The Edge suite?

Thanks for the props, guys! These were a lot of fun. Sadly, CTTE isn't among the 4. Not much to do during the Wakeman solo section!

No FX pedals - just the bass going into an SWR SM-400 head & ADA MB1 preamp through a Hiwatt 4x12 cab (w/ 85 watt Celestions.)

That was awesome I have always wanted a 60s Ric but in South Africa we get ripped off.

The 12's help make the sound. Back in those days Chris was using Sunn amps with 6 x 12 cabinets. Saw Yes two years ago and the clank factor was overwhelming when he used the old Rose Morris. A new Rick sounded better.
