I remember liking "Mind Drive". If anything I probably like the Fly From Here suite the best. Probably has something to do with Trevor Horn producing again.

I'll have to go back and listen to the songs on your list but I do really like "Open Your Eyes" and "Magnification".
Not to get off the subject, but some of the best concerts that I've attended have been the Yes shows here in Philly at the old Spectrum. Typically they would do two shows here and we would go to see both! Apparently there's a DVD out from the 1979 Philly shows - "Tormato" tour I think that was. I still have the program from that concert (yikes, I am old!)

The Philly 1979 DVD is pretty weak as far as sound quality goes. Lots of clips on Youtube as evidence. Yes Live In Philadelphia (1979) Part 1- Siberian Khatru - YouTube
My top 5 from the last 16 years are probably "That,That Is","Homeworld","Dreamtime","In The Presence Of", and "New Language".
Hmmmm, all those songs are 10 minutes or more.I see a pattern here......
Still waiting for Fly From Here to grow on me. Parts of Open Your Eyes eventually did, mainly "Universal Garden".

The thing that strikes me as consistent through all of Yes' work is Squire's ability to construct a line that fits so well in the context of the song. His lines can be powerful, or they can be subtle, but they're always musical!

| | A figment of our exaggeration | | Join Date: Aug 2007 Location: Way Out West | | | I really like:
"Mind Drive"
"Homeworld"
"Dreamtime"
"Can You Imagine" - Squire's vocal contribution on Magnification
The "Fly From Here" Suite
I've seen the band on most tours since Relayer. They were always one of the best live acts. Hopefully they come back out to play the entire Fly From Here LP.
It's my favorite record of 2011. |

| | | From my point of view, Fly From Here is really a step above most of their stuff since Drama. I also liked Mind Drive and a few bits and pieces over the years, but it's telling to me that most of Fly From Here and Mind Drive were written c1981 or so.
I think they still are awesome musicians, but unless Trevor Horn has some more gems stored up in his vault, I think their creative peak is past them.
I'm hoping for more gems.. |

| | | | No one's said "Roundabout?" I'm not a huge fan of theirs, but my brother likes to make me listen to them, and I always liked that song and its bass line.
