As far as I'm aware Chris was using a Ric at that time, just as you'd expect. No doubt someone will chime in here if I'm mistaken.

It was a Ric, and I don't mean Ocasek.

I saw that tour and that's what he used live. I saw every Yes tour from Topographic on, up 'til Drama, and he always seemed to use(I'm guessing) whatever he used on the album for the particular songs---for example, in the Topographic show, there's one little section of one of the tunes(don't recall which) where he'd play an EB-0 on a stand (while still wearing the Ricky) just for this one little section. Then the roadie would run out and take it away. On the Drama tour, I remember him coming out with his T-bird for the first song, then switching back to the Ric, and so on. What the heck, they could do whatever they wanted. Would have been easy enough to just play the part on the Ricky with a different EQ or whatever, but, hey, why not mount an EB-0 to a stand and use it for 4 bars?
Of course, Steve Howe had the rotating stand with the different guitars and his lap steel on it. It was kinda crazy. I could never play a guitar or bass fixed to a stationary stand like that.
