Right, my bass teacher has given me a few Victor Wooten songs on a CD, and I'm learning More Love, U Can't Hold No Groove and Norwegian Wood.

I wanna buy some of his CDs, but where do I start? 'A Show Of Hands' looks good, what others?

Cheers y'all.

EDIT - Oh, if anyone wants to reccomend any other bassists, feel free ^_^

I'd also recommend the Bass Extremes cd's and DVD with Vic and Steve Bailey....amazing stuff, and it shows a lot of versatility. The first album is my favorite, and I HIGHLY recommend the DVD...

If you're getting into Vic Wooten, you absolutely MUST get some stuff from Bela Fleck & The Flecktones. Bela Fleck is an amazing banjo player/band leader, and the stuff he did with Wooten is incredible. Most of Wooten's solo stuff is extremely focused on the bass, his stuff with the Flecktones shows his musicianship skills and how good he is with a full band. I suggest you get their album "Flight of The Cosmic Hippo", it's my favorite. Also check out their live albums, any of them are good.

Yeah...if you want to check out his versatility in a band setting besides bela's stuff.....there's Vital Tech Tones 2 cd's, Mike Stern's 'These Times', Greg Howe's Extraction, Prasanna's 'Be The Change', .....lots of cool stuff out there that Vic's done...

Dont forget the 2 disc live set from Victor, you will absolutely LOVE it. Lots of Wooten haters here.....steer clear.
