Post your favorite (or top three if you prefer that) Ray Charles song!

Mine's But On The Other Hand Baby, no contest.

If I had to have a top three it would probably be:

But On The Other Hand Baby
I Got A Break Baby

I like this version of Let It Be: http://youtube.com/watch?v=22pS8rZWcE4

He injects so much soul into that song without overdoing it.

Too many great songs for me to single a few out, but "You don't know me" was the first I got to play, so I'm partial to that one.

I guess I was really impressed by the first song I ever heard of his - "Ruby". I must have been about 8 or 9. I remember I asked my folks to buy the 45 rpm record which, on the flipside, had "Georgia" if I recall correctly. Of course, he was a great musician/performer and did some great songs, but that one is foremost in my recollection of him.

"Doing the Mess Around" is my favorite as well. Killing groove on that one....and I love the piano lick at the beginning.

Also, the album "Ray Charles and Betty Carter" has some killing cuts on it as well...I think that's my favorite album.
