I was late listening to U2, so Atomic Bomb will always probably be my favorite. Joshua Tree is second.

Under a Blood Red Sky was my favorite. It was during the time when the lines between Punk and New Wave were still somewhat blurred. The "culture(s)" I mean.

War. The driving bass line of New years day, and the spiced bass line in Sunday bloody Sunday. Love umm.

Joshua Tree followed by War. My first iPod was the U2 iPod that came out 2005-ish. It was black with a red wheel in the middle (it came out when How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb was released).

I've been a huge fan for close to 25 years.

You don't think his groove on Pop or No Line on the Horizon compare?

I'll give another strong vote for the "October" love. For many years it was my favourite U2 album. I've also got a soft spot for "Boy". Their early work just doesn't get enough credit, and even by the time Unforgettable Fire came out, it seemed to be dismissed in favour of the new work.

Of course, Joshua Tree and Achtung Baby are all-time classics too. Really, there isn't much U2 that I don't love.

Joshua Tree no doubt, followed by Achtung Baby, then War.

Hmm. Tricky one.

Which is the shortest U2 album?

I read a book about them that said Clayton was very much a beginner bassist during the first couple of albums.

My vote goes to the first 4 albums.

+1

That has always been my favorite U2 album, the atmosphere on Party Girl,40 and pretty much every other sound on that record take me back to a special place in my childhood.
Then come Achtung Baby for being very brave and Joshua Tree minus "I still haven't found..." as a pure delight!
