I don’t know about you but when I started playing bass, I noticed some great bass lines out of old disco hit songs.
I’ve heard them so many times when I was younger. But in the new perspective the bass playing gave me, in my own opinion, they are just great fun to play.
My favourites so far are from Chic (Bernard Edward was great!).
So what are yours? |

First ones that come to mind are: Play That Funky Music by Wild Cherry and Get Down Tonight by KC and the Sunshine Band.

Queen - "Another One Bites the Dust" is totally disco. |

+1 on "Ain't No Stoppin' Us Now"
"Disco Nights" by GQ
"Just A Touch Of Love" by Slave (disco-ised funk)
"Heartbeat" by Taana Gardner (technically post-disco)
"Keep The Fire Burning" by Gwen McCrae (also post-disco)
Some more post-disco favourites:
"Take Your Time (Do It Right) by S.O.S. Band
"Behind The Groove" by Teena Marie
"Give It To Me Baby" by Rick James | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
