Does anybody know the bass that was used on "Your the one that I want" on the Grease sound track? I love the tone on that track!

Thank you!

Since it was L.A. session guys (Mike Porcaro, David Hungate, Max Bennett and others) in 1978...The odds are good that it was a Fender product.

I vote P. Love that bassline- makes an otherwise puddle of vom into a catchy tune.

Agree with P and pick. Tone knob in the middle. High in the mix.

Funny, I just learned this for a wedding I'm playing this evening. Initially thought, "Oh, Crap...", but what a slick little line. Fun to play despite what's happening on top.

Sounds like session bassist David Hungate ... so a p bass or jazz? It really has a smooth groove!
