So, what's your favourite bass intro?

My vote goes with Iron Maiden's "The Clairvoyant". Fast, beautiful sound, great melody and so simple that it was one of the first riffs I learnt.

This is what it sounds like for those of you who don't yet know.

Why do I think of For Whom The Bell Tolls with that Annhilator song?

There's a bass intro on Pete Escovedo's Flying South album that stands out in my head. Can't recall the title, but you'll know it when you hear it.

not my all time favorite, but I really like "Night Goat" and "The Talking Horse" by the Melvins.

I really like the intro to "My Friend of Misery" by Metallica

...and I have always been enamored by the tone on the not flashy at all intro of "The Art of Shredding" by Pantera

Many awesome examples so far. Has anyone mentioned "Peace Sells"?

Okay, I just saw it.

Anthrax - Caught in a Mosh got me wanting to play bass but I think Jane's Addiction - Three Days has it forever. That song is absolutely epic.
