Hey Guys,

I posted a new youtube clip of a solo concept I've been working on. Would love your feedback

YouTube - ‪Rough Idea‬‏
Thanks!

EDIT: As some of the comments mention below, it starts off a bit slow to set the ambiance. It gets more interesting, I promise!

Pretty cool, harmony reminds me a bit of Andy Mckee!

I like it, the chorus effect sounds good but I would personally do something with the pedal notes in the beginning to make it slightly more interesting.

Great sound, excellent harmonies, good ambience, easy groove, love the choruser. Very nice solo. Now go buy that app, so we don't have to look at the Demo overlay anymore.

It does start a little slow, though.

So, what amp and settings (both bass and amp) are you using for this?

Good call. Something about the simplicity of it makes it satisfying to play, but I agree, it's a bit boring to watch/listen to. Thanks for listening through it.

Thanks, I agree with the slow start. It's really 2 different ideas joined together (awkwardly, I might ad), and then the return to the first adds the more melodic part as opposed to the pedal tones mentioned above.

It's a pretty simple setup. That bass is a Squier VM Jazz with all knobs wide open, connected to a MacBook Pro via a cheap Behringer UC6102 USB interface. I have that running through Garage band with the 'Bright bass' setting with the reverb kicked up a bit.

Cool, thanks. I'll have to check out the Behringer, I love Garage Band, so being able to play into it would be really nice...

The reason I'm using that ScreenFlow software is that it lets you record your 'desktop audio', which means the audio coming GarageBand. I haven't found a way to do that yet with iMovie.

Good to know! I'll have to keep that in mind, too. Ordered the Behringer, gonna play with Garage Band...
