Sign in to disble this ad
I've already done Battery, Damage INC, and Orion, so I figured it was about time to do THE definitive Metallica, METAL song, Master of Puppets. I threw in both of the guitar solos too, just for good measure

Enjoy!

Cool! I like being able to hear a bass part clearly with the music in the background. Nice bass too!

Thanks. Youtube seems to have decided to compress the hell out of the audio in this video though. Bah

Great job man, you absolutely kill that line. Cliff would be proud I've watched a lot of your other vids and you're a great player.

If I'm gonna get critical personally don't like the tone at all and think I detected a little sloppiness in places.

Not a bad video though, generally its a-ok.

um...nobody is completely perfect (to the above post). But sloppiness? You're just saying that to try and be a rebel.

I'm sure the OP didn't post the video up just for a pat on the back session Oreomeister. He asked for opinions, I gave mine. I thought it was a very good video but a little (and I mean little) sloppy in one or two spots.

and "trying to be a rebel", what age are you? 10?

Thanks guys! I don't really tailor my tone towards Metal, since I'm not primarily a Metal player. I go for more of a warm, woody tone most of the time, with older strings. Works good enough for me with Metallica and Dream Theater and such, but ideally I would maybe use brighter strings.

Sloppiness? Yeah, sure, maybe a little. I know I screwed up at least one little bit in there, and quickly caught myself. It's bound to happen. It's all good

I think the video on youtube was either the 1st or 2nd run through I did. I recorded a bunch after that, trying to get the best take, even did some seperate videos of just the solos to splice in (different camera angle, trying to be all fancy :P) - but eventually I went back and watched this one and just liked it best.

I wasn't trying to be rude for the record mate. I was giving me honest (albeit critical) opinion on the matter. I think the tone'd suit better outside metal. (I mightn't have been too clear, I didn't mean your tone was ****, I just meant I didn't think it suited metal.)

As for the sloppiness, I think we're talking about the same bit there because you described exactly what I saw (and to your credit, great recovery)

Good work bro.

Wow!!! Pretty freaking awesome. The solo's kill!!!!

This being one of my favorite Metallica songs and I've probably listened to it more than any other song in history, there are a couple of little things that I didn't like but damn, you can play.

Makes my youtube video from 1993 seem lame!!!
