This is something that I put together late last year. I did it for kicks on a couple of fronts. One is that I wanted to see what I could do with Garageband in terms of recording my bass. I've had it for all this time and never messed with it very much.
The other was that a friend had given me a drawing she had done as a Picasso study on the Old Guitarist, and after I had made the audio clip, I did a little video, kind of "bringing the drawing to life."

So, I started up Garageband with the goal of trying to layer some tracks and just see what was under the hood. There were a couple of chords I had heard earlier in the day in another TBer's post, so I guess the chorded part is kind of boosted. I picked some percussion from Garageband, did a track of harmonics and then soloed the bridge pup and just played off the top of my head for about 5 minutes. I kept about half of it, and there you have it. I needed to trim the length because there was only so much I could do with the drawing.
I'm not claiming any status, skill or quality to the track as it came out. As limited as it is, it was a one time deal. I haven't found the will to try to do it again, but it was a fun little project to see what multitrack recording capabilities I had in Garageband.
As far as the hows - I ran the headphone out of my TCE RH450 into my MacBook. I recorded the chord loop to the click track and then previewed different drum kit tracks until I found one I liked. With those two together, I added the rest of the layers.
