Zawinul Faces and Places Info

Hi,

Please get the Zawinul - Faces and Places (2002) CD and listen to track 4 and 5: Tower Of Silence and The Spirit Of Julian "C" Adderley

I absolutely fell in love with that tone, and I want to know these things:

- What bassist plays on the tracks? I read that Etienne Mbappe, Richard Bona and Victor Bailey played bass on the album. But who plays bass on the 2 songs named above?
- How can I get that tone? It sounds like a Jazz Bass and Ampeg Tube Amp to me. Is this true? If yes, I have a HWY Jazz Bass, what amp should I buy to get this tone? Is an Ampeg SVP Pro / CL enough to get that tone?

Thanks!

'Tower Of Silence' has both Mbappe & Bona on bass, and 'Spirit Of Julian Adderley' has just Mbappe on bass.
I don't know what basses they used but I bet they went direct, I don't hear a amp.
