Another crazy Bubinga top from Roscoe...

Roscoe recently received another really nice Bubinga board that they have since cut up into a bunch of lovely tops. I've grabbed three of them. The first one that will come through is this thin, bookmatched top that will go on this Century Standard Plus 5-string.

This pic is pretty rough. You can see glue squeeze-out at the seam, and the top hasn't even been sanded smooth yet. It will only get more lovely and refined as they get further along in the process!

Bird's Eye Maple Board? Ash Body? J Pickups? Black Hardware? It's all in there!!

It ain't too late yet...we haven't got the fingerboard glued on and won't for a week or so...heck, it could still be a 6 string too, if you so desire....

...not that I'm tryin' to cause you any discomfort or anything...

...and just to be helpful for Ryan...

...here's an updated photo, the top has been milled and glued onto the back (ash), and is ready to get cut out. You can see the outline of where the body will fall on this one in pencil.

Those who looked at the page for this bass on the Rocket Music site today may have noticed a couple changes. No longer J pickups, and something about "pre-sold," whatever that means

By the by - Jeff is planning a trip down to the U.S to pick up his Roscoe-to-be. I'm not allowed to sell Roscoes directly into Canada, and I happily abide by that policy. Dave at Club Bass (the Canadian Roscoe dealer) is a great guy with a great business, and we've worked together happily a few times in the past to get a bass that I had in stock into a Canadian customer's hands. We basically split those kinds of sales.

So move along, nothing to see here.

Oh, and it goes without saying, but I'll say it anyway. Thanks for picking us to help you out in the U.S., Jeff!

Either a genius or a prime example of "even a blind squirrel finds a nut every now and then".

I'll take genius though!

I was thinking the same thing. Well really, before I committed and was looking at this thread I thought "yeah, I am surprised it's not spoken for already." I'm glad to be the one.

Thanks to Greg, who has been nothing but fantastic to deal with so far. As he mentioned I have a great local dealer whom I have bought Roscoes from before including my current SKB custom, and likely will again. In this case it was just a matter of Rocket having on order exactly what I was looking for with a great top already selected. The timing works out well for me and I will be receiving it in the spring.
