Bergantino AE-322?

Wondering if you have a better chance in winning the lottery compared to Jim offering one of these... (AE-322)

I am totally addicted to the HT-322, but I'm not interested in lugging around a boat anchor...

Thoughts?

Jim checks in here pretty regularly, so he'll probably see this thread. Like any manufacturer, he's probably not interested in making one of anything. But if we can get a chorus of "amens" going in this thread, that might help him judge the size of the market for such a cab.

Just guessing at the price point, but it would probably be similar to the AE410 ($1149 plus $70 shipping), so please factor that into your "I'll take one" reponses.

I'll get it started - I'd almost certainly take one 322 (AE or HT). I've heard GREAT things about those cabs. And if it were IP, as well... oh, boy...

I bet an IP 322 and the Alembic would work great for ya on the smaller gigs I'm still trying to save up for a Berg (or 2)

God Bless, Ray

I've got a drummer friend that has one that I've been using for the last year or so, and like I stated... I'm addicted to the cab! I've never had the response out of a 410 that I can get out of the 322. Full response throughout the entire spectrum! I understand that if the demand was low to discontinue the HT but it seems like everything I read states that the 322 was one of the best cabs that Jim ever designed. And of course I mean this as a compliment :-)
a Berg is definitely in my future, and I post this thread here cause I plan on ordering it from Rocket! I just wanted to shake the tree on the 322 to see if there was any nibbles before I just go with the AE410 :-)

I've almost bought used 322's several times.

By far my favorite cabinet EVER.

An AE322 would force me to sell body parts....an IP322 would force me to sell other people's body parts...

You kinda seem on the fence, Gard. Is that a "yes"?

So, what's the deal with the IP's?
Is the amp thats built into the cab that much better than say a Eden, or a Thunderfunk... Or insert any brand... :-)

I assume that there is some built in DSP that has a preset EQ curve to match the cab...
Or maybe the slew rate is wicked good or something...

Edumacate me puhleeze hehe...

Hmmm. Gard's got me thinking. Tellya' what, my friend...when you have some, ahh, inventory, please send me a quote on Greg's goatee. I could rock that proudly while listening to you play through your newest Berg.

I've never had the pleasure of experiencing one of these beauties, but based on all the feedback they've got to be amazing.

Just FYI, I can't think of two cabs more different sounding than the HT322 and the AE410. I gigged the modular HT322 (the HT210s/HT122s 's' stack) for a while. The 322 is very deep, polite in the mids (a bit scooped), and very glassy, hi fi up top, with that big horn carrying quite a bit of the upper mids. The AE410 is tight, punchy, grindy and growly, with an aggressive, somewhat raw top end.

I greatly prefer the tight, punchy tone of the AE410 myself, but that's just pure personal taste. However, the point of my post is that if you love the HT322, you will probably not dig the AE410. An HT ER stack would probably be the closest thing to the HT322 in Jim's line right now.

The thing with the IP's is the DSP. Lot's of compression built in (and EQ), so these cabs get VERY loud. It can be quite a challenge to match a preamp to them though, since you are kind of feeding one preamp into another. I'm not sure these are still in production.
