I've got two new tops down at Roscoe HQ that have my name on 'em. The first is a BEAUTIFUL exhibition grade Quilted Maple top that is available for a future custom build. Anyone out there unable to resist?!?
The second top is also Exhibition Quilted Maple, but it is already allocated to a Roscoe SKB-3005 with J pickups. Gard is trying to get me a pic of the top sometime later today.
As the listing on my site says, this Roscoe w/ Jazz pickups is up for grabs. I'll reserve it for anyone willing to put down a 20% non-refundable deposit ($600). The bass can arrive in as little as 2-3 months. |

Being totally honest, I'm still hoping for the possibility of a Roscoe with Bart SC's in a bridge-biased (a la Zon Special) configuration, but of course that's a different animal entirely. Anyway, kudos to Greg for jumping on this. |

Funny you should mention the RB Fender Billy. That was "the bass I regret not getting". My local Guitar Center had one that somebody had dropped and put a good ding in the finish We were going to be able to get it for a STEAL! But I foolishly said no because it was a fiver
I admit it, I'm a dumba$$.
God Bless, Ray

God Bless, Ray | Man, bummer.
I'd love to find a deal on a RB-5, true the neck wouldn't be as comfy as one of those Roscoes from Greensboro, NC, but it'd still be great. |

But I'd still rather have a Keith Roscoe Roscoe.
God Bless, Ray

God Bless, Ray | Oh, don't get me wrong, the choice would be hard, but I'd end up with Keith's work, were it a one or the other situation.
But, as it is, I'm delighted to have both of my favourite basses. |

The RB5 was a nice, finely made instrument, but it didn't have much personality in its sound, and the B string never sounded like I wanted it to, no matter what strings I put on it. The (Keith) Roscoe has the sound I was hoping to get out of the RB 5 - personality for days!
But if I could have a Roscoe 5 with the sparkly warmth and pizazz that my '69 Jazz has, that would be a definite addition to the quiver
