Fresh Roscoe Porn (including a Roscoe Jazz!!)

I've got two new tops down at Roscoe HQ that have my name on 'em. The first is a BEAUTIFUL exhibition grade Quilted Maple top that is available for a future custom build. Anyone out there unable to resist?!?

The second top is also Exhibition Quilted Maple, but it is already allocated to a Roscoe SKB-3005 with J pickups. Gard is trying to get me a pic of the top sometime later today.

As the listing on my site says, this Roscoe w/ Jazz pickups is up for grabs. I'll reserve it for anyone willing to put down a 20% non-refundable deposit ($600). The bass can arrive in as little as 2-3 months.

Just wow, Greg! That top is gorgeous. And I'm REALLY excited about the SKB w/ J pickups.

Okay, I know I already used the word, "REALLY," but man...I am anxious to hear Greg's sound clips of that Roscoe. Being totally honest, I'm still hoping for the possibility of a Roscoe with Bart SC's in a bridge-biased (a la Zon Special) configuration, but of course that's a different animal entirely. Anyway, kudos to Greg for jumping on this.

That would be fantastic, paired with a diamondwood board...

^^Totally Agree^^

Funny you should mention the RB Fender Billy. That was "the bass I regret not getting". My local Guitar Center had one that somebody had dropped and put a good ding in the finish We were going to be able to get it for a STEAL! But I foolishly said no because it was a fiver

I admit it, I'm a dumba$$.

God Bless, Ray

You never know Ray. I'm thinking that would be a cool bass to have. Exhibition Koa oiled top, maple board, alder body, Bart SC's, Bart 3-band. Sounds like a winner to me!

Man, bummer.

I'd love to find a deal on a RB-5, true the neck wouldn't be as comfy as one of those Roscoes from Greensboro, NC, but it'd still be great.

The chance I had was back in '98 so at least I can say I was "young"

But I'd still rather have a Keith Roscoe Roscoe.

God Bless, Ray

Oh, don't get me wrong, the choice would be hard, but I'd end up with Keith's work, were it a one or the other situation.

But, as it is, I'm delighted to have both of my favourite basses.

I had a Roscoe Beck 5 that I sold once I got my SKB 3005. The RB5 was a nice, finely made instrument, but it didn't have much personality in its sound, and the B string never sounded like I wanted it to, no matter what strings I put on it. The (Keith) Roscoe has the sound I was hoping to get out of the RB 5 - personality for days!

But if I could have a Roscoe 5 with the sparkly warmth and pizazz that my '69 Jazz has, that would be a definite addition to the quiver

Oh, man, Gard just rocked my world. Check out the SKB5Jazz in process, and keep in mind that the top in this photo is DRY... hit it with a little finish, and this one should be amazing!
