Melancon Guitars @ Rocket Music!!

Here's another geetar post that might be of interest to you guys. We've just started carrying Gerard Melancon's guitars, and these things are unbelievably gorgeous. Danny tells me they play great, too, but I can't really tell (dang skinny strings!!).

Gerard makes basses, too, and based on this new arrival (a Melancon Custom Artist T), I might just have to order one to give it a try.

I was just gonna say "All its short of being the perfect Tele is a coil cut on that humbucker."

Decided to check the specs first, bam! Push-pull tone pot for the coil cut!

Oh, snap, here's another Melancon worth mentioning... even if it is a geetar!

This thing is crazy. It's wired like an old Gretsch. It's got TV Jones Filterton pickups, Volume/Volume/Tone controls, and then that knob out on the lower horn is an overall master volume. And that big gold Bigsby just brings the bling and amps up the retro vibe.

Nice, the pickguard almost has a thinline flow to it.... (you know I love that style, )

The Bigsby is just OTT awesomeness!

Nice nice!

"You know Danny, you really could do with a Tele, and a Gretsch, round out your gear, and would fit the band's sound great......

Imagine, if you could have the best of both combined in one axe.........

Oh look, this lovely Melancon that arrived today!"

Too funny - Danny just sold his G&L tele, which was his main axe in his honky tonk/rockabilly band (3 Minute Lovin'). He picked up a Gretsch a couple months ago, and that's all he plays in that band now. But he's itching for a Tuttle tele now...

Thumbs up

Wow! Nice looking guitars!

Check the flame on the back of that neck & that Bigsby tailpiece/tremello is just killer too! I didn't know that they were still manufacturing those bad boys!

I met Gerard years ago. And I had the chance to play a few of his basses. They were well crafted, played great and sounded super nice.

Gerard really is passionate about his art and it really does come across extremely well in his instruments.

Yup, them Bigsby's are killer, would love one for a bass, like they done for the Gretsch White Falcon bass.

Jeez, here's another fun guitar. It's a Suhr, not a Melancon (sorry for going OT). And it's the polar opposite of the previous guitar. This one is all modern: setneck, 24 fret, elliptical neck, hot humbuckers. This one is a shred machine, and it's every bit as gorgeous as the more retro-vibed Melancon. This one is also kinda special, it's #11 of 125 in Suhr's Limited Edition run of guitars for 2010. They do this every year, they spec out a macked out guitar and dress it to the nines in limited quantities. Even the case gets the royal treatment...

Suhr Modern SN 2010 LE

Yup, polar opposite, but they'd make an almighty tag team, I'd bet!

Like a Roscoe and a Lull Jazz(or Roscoe Jazz, soon enough! )

Man, you guys get all the best toys for guitar and bass!

I shudder to think about what you guys would be stocking, if you chose to take up drum gear...
