painting?!?!? I hope you're not going to cover that with a solid color. Though maybe a sunburst...

Back in the day I had a '65 Strat that was sunburst and didn't go to black but rather a dark maroon. I always thought it would be cool to do a sunburst with all trans finishes, yellow to red to dark maroon or a trans black. Not sure if that is possible though...

btw, iirc you're in SoCal. I had a Grosh for awhile and was thinking of refretting and Don recommended you. I didn't realize you did basses. Hmmm...

Hah! Michael may have fretted your Grosh originally, Todd. He used to work with Don.

I don't think so, as my Grosh was recent (ElectraJet, CO built). I do know that in guitar circles Grosh fretwork is highly regarded (has been for many years), and Michael is known as one of the best guys around.

Hey, Michael - what's the story on this one? Is it headed to my store already, or is it available if I want to snap it up?

That's funny you asked, it is routed for Joe Barden pickups.
What finish would you like?

Michael.

Sweet! I'm kinda feeling a vintag-ey cherry burst, but I'm happy to let TB'ers continue to chime in if you're not in too much of a hurry...

What's going on with the headstock? Plain maple?

Yummmm - trans teal - we are thinking outside the box. I like it!

I don't know that I could personally rock such a bass, but I've had guitars hanging here in the store that looked like that. Very cool look...

Way back in the day I had a trans teal Stingray. Was a really nice instrument, though weighed a freakin' ton.

Teals and gray/greens can look awesome if you get the right shade. Combine that with black hardware and it is truly striking.

Bardens? Like Javier?

oh wait, wrong speeling
