Moa Koa

Roscoe is making a pair of special Koa-topped basses for me. The fretboard materials are up in the air for now. Might be BE Maple, might be Wenge. Not that Gard has to listen to any of us, but let us know your preferences! I'm leaning Wenge myself, just cause the Koa/BEM thing has been done a bunch. And I LOVE the sound of more wenge in the neck

So is that a vote for a Wenge fretboard? Just so you can have something different?

Yeah, I think a darker wood would look better at the transition from the blonde Koa sapwood to the fretboard...

You could run, but you couldn't hide. She would find you.

And tempting me with something like that would be just pure evil. Please, make them both fretted.

...yup, we just decided:

The Century Signature V will be a lined fretless bird's eye maple diamondwood fingerboard...

My vote will ALWAYS be ebony for the fingerboard.... ESPECIALLY is it's fretless.

There's a bird's eye version of the diamondwood? Oh, man - are there any pics of that?

Well, might as well add 20mm bridge spacing to that then. If you're gonna get me killed, I might as well get killed for something with PERFECT specs.
