New Arrival - Roscoe Century Standard Plus 6 J (Koa/BEM)

Here's another gorgeous Century Standard Plus 6-string from Roscoe. It plays and sounds as good as it looks! I'll try to generate a quick clip in just a bit...

If that was a fretless, it would be on its way to ND........

If thunder could sing, that'd be about the way to make it happen...

Here's a quick clip I threw together. I had dreams of learning Billy Preston's wicked keyboard solo, but I just didn't have time today...

Killing two birds with one stone: I recorded the bass direct through my REDDI tube DI, AND I mic'd my Berg NV-610 (w/ tweeter) cab with a Peluso CEMC6 mic. My electronics were used to drive the cab (Alembic F1X/SF2 -> Crest CA9).

Here's the complete mix using just the direct tracks. I added some distortion and phaser to the chords to help with separation.

"Get Back" (Complete Mix)

Here are the naked direct tracks:
"Get Back" ("Vocal")
"Get Back" (Bass)
"Get Back" (Chords)

And here are the naked mic'd tracks:
"Get Back" ("Vocal")
"Get Back" (Bass)

Ooops, I forgot to mention this. The bass track was all neck pickup, the chords track was all bridge pickup, and the lead track was both pickups blended.

I doubt that this one will last very long ......

Yeah, the black hardware looks great on these standards. And so does this friggin' BEM board! Man, the bird's eye is off the chart on this one. I guess they do pick it from the same wood pile as everything else.

And, yeah, Bill... it sounds gooooood.

I believe this one needs a fretless twin built

(If you build it, a poop flingfest is sure to ensue.)

Make sure it has BLACK hardware too.

God Bless, Ray

Or, or, or!

Greg could pop this one into the pimpin' purple workstation, and shout "Hey Danny, come here a minute, and bring 'dem pliers too!"

Dug the sound clips - thanks, Greg! This bass is absolutely gorgeous. I am in love with this sweet spot in the Roscoe product line. Incredible value for a USA-handcrafted instrument that plays like magic and sounds amazing.

FWIW, I asked Greg awhile ago and this bass weighs 8.95 lbs. That's pretty good for a 6 string with a mahogany body!
