In case you are wondering what a Lull jazz bass might sound like with flats, here you go:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sVneu...eature=mh_lolz
Lull M5V with TI jazz flats, pickup blend centered, all EQ set flat, recorded direct into a Lexicon interface.

As Jerry said, this bass seems to go over really well with all the guys I play with; they all seem to like the sound. Further, it balances perfectly and has a slim, comfortable neck.

Sounds great! Thanks for sharing.

Mmmmmm - here's a special order that I placed for a customer right before the price increase back in Jan/Feb. The bass turned out quite lovely, as usual.

This is the first 34" 5-string of Mike's that I've played. The B string is quite good, I like it. It's strung through the body, while the rest of the strings are strung through the bridge.

Mike Lull P5 (Trans Blue, 34")

that P5 looks great!

Would you happen to know the tonal differences between the Nordstrand NP5 and the Lull custom P5 pick up?

Which one do you prefer?

Sorry, I've not yet had the opportunity to play them both side-by-side. As soon as our showroom gets done (any week now), I should be able to have everything hanging out in the open so that comparisons like this are easier to do.

I did just play this bass, and it sounds fantastic. It's very much a P-bass tonally. Thick and mid heavy... it makes me want a P-bass!

The customer who ordered this one wanted to hear it, so I recorded a quick clip this morning. Thought ya'll might like to hear the 34" scale B string and the Nordstrand pickup...

Mike Lull P5 (Trans Blue, 34")

Mike Lull P5 Clip

This was recorded ambiently. I ran the bass through a Genz-Benz Streamliner 900 and a Bergantino HT-322, and I captured it in the room with my Olympus LS-11 handheld digital recorder.

I think the B string is quite clear sounding and authoritative, I dig it. And as with every Lull P-bass I play... I now want one.

I am all about the ambient recording - such a great feel for how the bass really sounds, IMO. Thanks, Greg. That thing is thunderous! Congrats to the fellow who owns this one.

Yes, Yes.....Yes. I had been away from my Lull for a few weeks and was reunited yesterday. Man, such a fantastic bass. If I ever need the Fender Jazz Bass tone in a better sounding clone I am ready. They sound great, play great and if you call the shop, Paul is awesome to deal with.

Kudos all around

Was the black headstock the right call, or what?!? Man, this bass looks GREAT!

Mike Lull M5V (Spalted Maple, 2 Tone Burst) (SOLD)

I didn't think this one would stick around too long... just a day over a month!

Man, I'm sorry to see this one go.

No Bud Light for you! Actually, Steve is more angry with you than I am. But still.

Sadly, the blue P5 leaves the store today, too. We finally got the right pickguard in (aged pearloid for a 34" scale P5, and all 3 of those things matter).

Sorry fellas! I never thought I'd feel bad for selling stuff... oh, wait. I don't!
