Lull M5V with TI jazz flats, pickup blend centered, all EQ set flat, recorded direct into a Lexicon interface.
As Jerry said, this bass seems to go over really well with all the guys I play with; they all seem to like the sound. Further, it balances perfectly and has a slim, comfortable neck. |

This is the first 34" 5-string of Mike's that I've played. The B string is quite good, I like it. It's strung through the body, while the rest of the strings are strung through the bridge. Mike Lull P5 (Trans Blue, 34") |

Would you happen to know the tonal differences between the Nordstrand NP5 and the Lull custom P5 pick up?
Which one do you prefer? |

Which one do you prefer? | Sorry, I've not yet had the opportunity to play them both side-by-side. As soon as our showroom gets done (any week now), I should be able to have everything hanging out in the open so that comparisons like this are easier to do.
I did just play this bass, and it sounds fantastic. It's very much a P-bass tonally. Thick and mid heavy... it makes me want a P-bass! |

Thought ya'll might like to hear the 34" scale B string and the Nordstrand pickup... Mike Lull P5 (Trans Blue, 34") Mike Lull P5 Clip
This was recorded ambiently. I ran the bass through a Genz-Benz Streamliner 900 and a Bergantino HT-322, and I captured it in the room with my Olympus LS-11 handheld digital recorder.
I think the B string is quite clear sounding and authoritative, I dig it. And as with every Lull P-bass I play... I now want one. |

I ordered this one for myself, and I would love to grab it right away. But no can do, all my money is going into our building for the forseeable future. So you guys are all welcome to grab this one guilt-free. I'll just order another one when my time comes...
Was the black headstock the right call, or what?!? Man, this bass looks GREAT! Mike Lull M5V (Spalted Maple, 2 Tone Burst) (SOLD) | I didn't think this one would stick around too long... just a day over a month!
Man, I'm sorry to see this one go. |
