Roscoe Century-3005 "J" Coming Together!

Here's an update on the next Roscoe "J" that I've ordered. This one is a Century-3005 with an incredble Bosse/Sapele top.

Ash Body, Standard Neck w/ Wenge fretboard, Bart J PUPs & Bart 3-band pre, Oil finish. Yum!!!

Here's the raw top:

And here's the body as of today:

I'd pronounce it "bossy", but I actually call it by the name I'm used to calling it: sapele (suh-pee-lee).

It's also known as African Mahogany. Not that it's even remotely related to Mahogany, that was just a marketing gimick some schmuck thought up ("Hey, if we call it Mahogany, we might get some dunce to buy it").

Doesn't look like any Mahogany I've ever seen. Kinda a dumb gimmick.IMO.

Makes for a great Roscoe though.

BTW, Is this the one Jerry needed to see, or you got another one in the bullpen?

God Bless, Ray

Let me help you with that: 7-1, and no losses to FBS teams.

$20 is the only Hoe Key I know of. You can attract 'em with Axe Body Spray, but ya need the $20 to close the deal. (Dirty Joke but I had to... just too easy)

Nope, totally different stuff - Bosse/Sapele is African, Lacewood is Australian.

Cool, thanks for the info Gardfather. This is going to be a beautiful bass.

I was thinking of maybe heading to the shop this Friday, what are things like, do you all have time to entertain me? Mrs Crash is flying to Dallas for a Board Meeting from Thursday to Sunday.

Bring it on man, you can visit your old LG2005 and see the partially completed new neck for it.

Nah, man, I've been on the Sapele love bandwagon for years. Here's a stunning guitar amp cabinet that I built out of it a few years back...

So, you've been falling for it with years?!

I remember the amp, it's awesome.
I wish you could get good bass amps at that size/format, espcially an all tube setup, even thought of moving to a guitar rig, if I could get one with enough lows.
