I don't say this to rub anyone's nose in it, but strangely enough... Rocket Music's economy has been booming for 5-6 weeks straight. Either folks are buying high end gear to make themselves feel better... or it's just the usual media song that gets sung every 4 years ("The sky is falling, vote for...!").
I should probably duck after that last comment... allow me to apologize in advance to all the R's and D's out there. Sorry! I realize that there are some seriously f-ed up things going on at the macro-economic level. The bottom line for me is that Rocket Music's economy is doing just fine, so I'm going to continue to plan accordingly. I'm going to continue to plan for success.

Welcome to the Roscoe Family!
...I'll be adding Rocket Music to the website tomorrow, it was just too late in the day today for me to get 'round to it before saying 'bye to the office...

Seriously - as a big fan of the company and the amazing instruments they offer, it's great to see another dealer added to the network. I still remember being very happy to hear the news that my local shop climbed on board. |

Gard suggested I might not want to go broadneck for a non-special order bass, and I agreed earlier this morning. However, I'd be happy to switch it back if that's what's making you drool. The broadneck is a $300 adder, so this bass is sitting right at $5K...
Ah, heck, I'll make it back into a broadneck You only live once! |

Gard let me know about a no-home that some dealer must have ordered and been unable to take for whatever reason... Long story short, 5962 is on the way to me instead. It's an LG-3005 w/ Spanish Cedar body, Buckeye Burl top, Black Ebony fretboard, Bart/Bart electronics.
Retail = $4750, and I should have it here on Wednesday. Yahoo!! We're getting the Roscoe ball rolling a few months earlier than anticipated! |

Most manufacturer's have a "List Price" that nobody actually pays, then there's a "Minimum Advertised Price" which turns into the Internet Price (that's why EVERY site shows pretty much the same price for product X). And the dirty little secret is that most people could pay even less than that if they would just ask...
With Roscoe, though, they just have a Minimum Sale Price (which they also interchangeably call Retail Price). Their Retail Price is THE price. I can't sell under that price no matter how badly I might want to... well, I could, but I wouldn't be a Roscoe dealer for long...
Personally, I think this is cool as a cucumber. You don't have to worry about some dealer taking you for a ride, and I don't have to spend half my day quoting prices (which is what I do with Warwick, G&L, etc.). Each Roscoe bass costs what it costs no matter what dealer you order it from, so all you have to decide is if the bass is worth that much to you and which dealer you care to honor with your business.
It should really push us all to be better dealers, because customer service is the only thing we have left to separate ourselves from other dealers (other than having the right bass in stock at the right time).
I dig it. |

Just wanted to make sure I was right on my thinking that that's what retail meant.

As a consumer when I go to look at one, I know the price and do not need to shop around. Makes it much easier for me, all I have to do is pick which dealer I want to buy from. |

Long story short, it was a 'word' used in a college fight song "Hoki" the "e" was dded later. The fighting gobbler later came to be known as the "HokieBird" due to the popularity of the term 'Hokie'.

Being that it is my Irish heritage to pull for the Fighting Irish, I also pull for UVA. With the way the Hoos have started to play and the way tech is playing, there is a good chance for the first time in about five years that UVA can come away with a win. |
