The walnut/mahogany bass sounds so nice with the Roscoe Bart P/U's and Bart preamp that I'm probably going to leave it as is.
Such a nice contrast from the ash LG-3006 with the Bart CB's and Pope Flexcore. Both just killer sounds but soooo different. |

Just wondering how plain or not they are. | Fred - they're flamed or quitled for sure, it's just that the uniforimity of the figure is not there. So the flames, for instance, may run all over the place instead of nice and parallel.
If you ever browse lumber stores, look at A or AA tops instead of AAAA and AAAAA tops. When the grain and the figure are less uniform, the wood is graded down to reflect that. |
