Thanks Greg!
The walnut/mahogany bass sounds so nice with the Roscoe Bart P/U's and Bart preamp that I'm probably going to leave it as is.
Such a nice contrast from the ash LG-3006 with the Bart CB's and Pope Flexcore. Both just killer sounds but soooo different.

I finally took the LG to the stage with the recently installed Nordstrand pre (Thanks Greg @ Rocket Music). Definitely gave this bass some attitude!

Are there any pics of the standard maple tops (flame or quilt) that come standard without the extra charge for the fancy top?

Just wondering how plain or not they are.

Fred - they're flamed or quitled for sure, it's just that the uniforimity of the figure is not there. So the flames, for instance, may run all over the place instead of nice and parallel.

If you ever browse lumber stores, look at A or AA tops instead of AAAA and AAAAA tops. When the grain and the figure are less uniform, the wood is graded down to reflect that.

Thanks. I'm thinking of ordering another one and just want to keep it in the a*cough*ffordable range.

That's nice, but it really needs black hardware.

Amen to that!

A young whippersnapper once said "Black hardware unlocks the door to good sound"!

Well, I might was well show mine as well.

This is a Century Standard V, and an early one, apparently. It was originally made for Brad Houser (confirmed by Gard, and the initials on the neck and in the neck pocket). Of note (to me, anyway) is that it has a 12th fret inlay, unlike most standards. Came with an OPB-1, but I just switched it to a NTMB this week.

Love it. Got a good deal a few years ago on it down in Austin at Bass Emporium.
