I've always liked No Doubt's take on that song. Nice work Joe.

I like No Doubt and Gwen is absolutely HOT but I don't think they do this better than the original.

Maybe you were a child in the 80's and not out there like us old guys.

People always complain that there wasn't any good music in the 80's but I never agree with them. I think there was lots of great stuff coming out then (there was some crap too) but a lot of good music.

No idea, but I actually gigged that song myself, though we covered the No Doubt cover, which I think is as good, or maybe even better than the original. In any case, the bass run in the pre-chorus is really cool, and it's (sadly IMHO) often not totally faithfully covered (No Doubt does do it right).

Note: This is not a dig on you, JOME77. I do like your take on the tune.

Here's my latest Roscoe sound clip. It's an LG-3000 that I've had here for a while now. It's got a very cool tone, loads of growl, bite and ping.

This is a tune called "Fall" by Wayne Shorter that first appeared on the Miles Davis album "Nefertiti".

Here's the complete mix (full of EQ and FX) as well as the naked bass tracks (no EQ or FX).
"Fall" (Wayne Shorter, Complete Mix)
"Fall" (Wayne Shorter, Melody)
"Fall" (Wayne Shorter, Bassline)

man do i love this bass!!!

its got a sweet one piece maple body. i was sort of getting bored with the exotic tops [no offense roscoe owners] and Ive wanted an LG for many years now and then when i saw this blue. bam pow had to have it.

I should probably wait until after Thanksgiving to post this, since it's XMAS music, but what the heck.

A track recorded by our fallen comrade Adrian Garcia, recorded on a fretless Roscoe. Can't recall if it was a LG or or SKB. It predated the Century series.

Cool. Thanks for posting that. We have a rule in my house - no Christmas music until the day after Thanksgiving, however in this case I make an exception.

Yeah, but I'd rather take some flack for breaking this rule (which I also hold) than risk forgetting to post. I just happened to be on soundcloud today and saw it there. Next time I get on soundcloud could be well after the holidays. Just saying I know my mental limitations, and try to live within them as best I can.

Thanks Vic for posting that. As far as the "Rule" - It's near Thanksgiving and I think anyone who talked to/knew/read Adrian and his contribution to TB (and other various forums) and heard his music is thankful for all of that.

Christmas music/Thanksgiving music can blur lines. eh?

Here's a song that I wrote last Christmas Eve. I re-recorded all of the bass parts with my Roscoe 3006 signature the other day. That bass is such a joy to play! I was very fortunate to get it back.

This tune has a bit of guitar and keyboard too. The title "Nobiscum Deus" is Latin for "God with us". He definitely is!

Have a great Thanksgiving!

That fretless has me thinking all kinds of nasty thoughts. What a terrific sounding bass. Not to take anything away from the LG, which sounds fantastic as well, but....

Your wish is my command! Plus, I think they sound pretty excellent together. Good call!
