Schroeder cabs are here!

I've got a 1210 Light, 1212 Light, and a Mini 12+ Light. These all feature lightweight neodynium speakers, so they don't weigh much at all... but, man, they spank!

I'll be putting them them all through their paces, one of them is going home with me at some point this week

I'm leaning towards the 1210... OK, who am I kidding, I already bought it

To my ear, it's got the best balance between thump and growl. The 1212 was more thump and the 12+ was more growl. I like to feel the bass, but I also like it to cut through the mix. So I'm a 1210 guy for the forseeable future.

Dont get me wrong, they're all very nice. For fretless, I probably would've gone with the 1212. If I had old man syndrome w/ a bad back, I'd have taken the 12+.

Jorg promises that all of his cabinets open up in the low end after a 2-3 week break in period... if that's true with the 1210, I'm going to be ecstatic.

I should probably mention this since ya'll can't read my mind. One big reason I picked up the Schroeder line was to augment the Shuttle series amps. The Shuttle cabs themselves are pretty amazing for what they are (tiny, lightweight and loud). But I find the bottom, the low end presence, to be a little lacking. You hear the bottom just fine, but you don't feel it.

I think any of these Schroeders (the 1212 and 1210 in particular) matched with a Shuttle 6 head would be an incredible lghtweight rig.

Of course, I also dig the Gen-Benz NeoX-112 and 212 cabs in combination with the Shuttle 6.0 head, but I'm having a heck of a time keeping those cabs in stock. Schroeder has a 2 week leadtime, every cab is made to order, and Jorg will drop ship it straight to you (saves on shipping $$ and time). Problem solved

How does it compare to your Epiphani cabs? Can it hang?

Completely different. Apples to oranges. When I need a cab that is a proven quantity that I know will be loud enough and will cut thru, I bring the 1212R. Especially, if I've never played in the venue previously.

The Epis are super smooth and much more traditional sounding. I'm bringing my UL115 to a pub this Saturday, which I played in April, in which I just couldnt seem to get enough lows out of my 1212R without doing drastic things to the eq. I think the UL115 + shuttle will be an excellent remedy for that room. When I'm feeling lazy or worn out, I just bring my 30LB UL112 and shuttle. Its just insane how portable that rig is.
