I actually have lots of fun playing with these guys, the songs are super easy plus the pay is good ($150 x hour). This was at the Mexican Independence celebration last month http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=st-izyit7_s | Man Danny! I gotta learn me some spanish tunes besides La Cucaracha and Speedy Gonzales .
God Bless, Ray

Video (and I use that term as loose as a cheap Kmart sweater), is weaksauce, but it does give an example of a Roscoe bass in a live situation. Short time frame, crappy quality video and sloppy bass guy. I know that I am too loud (no sound guy here and drummer is afraid to hit his drums too loud to make them "dirty" )
Bass- Roscoe SKB 3006
Song: Chain of Fools (Aretha Franklin)
Amp- GK 1001 RB
Beer- Sam Adams Lager
Bass Player- Joe Bag-O-Donuts http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9w0kQ6Gv3bk
(now....be kind ) | Beast!
I utterly love up front groovy bass like that!

Nice clip Pete! The tone of the Roscoe definitely carries the tune Bro!
That bass is killer looking too! I actually narrowed down my recent purchase to the ziracote and the yellow quilt 3006 that really favored yours. Dig that maple board! |

This leads me to play more notes (sometimes too many), and I love, love, love funk. My Gallien Kruger amp is very loud (solid state), 2X12 - and without a soundman it is difficult to tell how loud it is by the ocean (where my wife and 2 girls were hanging out). Note- after 18 years of marriage & having dated for 7 years prior, one would think she would be a better indicator for sound!!! But, I can't complain- she as let me buy and sell over 20 basses since!
One of my funk heros was Bernard Edwards- love his style (RIP) and I think of him often when playing a basic 1-4-5 funky bluesy number.
Private Gig this Sat, hopefully will get better clips - with fretted SKB and fretless Century Roscoe

Could you hear it? Did everything sound balanced? I normally get the answer, I Guess so.
She has a hard time picking out the different instruments, but hey, she picked me out and that is what matters! |

Actually, my wife being a musician herself and by me being obsessive/compulsive over gear, knows quite a bit about gear.
enough to where bass playing buddies of mine usually can talk gear with er at times.
And she knows what she likes tone waise too.....
Loves that Warwck Thumb Bass growl.
Digs the growl from my 3006 too.
It's funny, she'll go out and come home from a club where a band was playing and usually has an opinion as to the player, his gear and tone.
"He had some P-Bass playing through a Peavey rig. His tone was kinda boomy with no growl or bite"....
Seriously. She's said things like that.
But she'll tell me "it sounds like a bass..."

Seriously. She's said things like that. | See Jerry, you need to let your wife read this and tell her you only want constructive criticism and her telling you to suck less only causes damage to your self confidence and self esteem and the only way you can gain any of this back is to buy another bass or some gear. |

I've been married 23 years.
Hay babe, how do I sound.
I can't tell, why don't you play a instrument I can hear?
Who care about bass.

Me: "how'd I sound?"
1st ex-wife (engineer/bassoonist/drummer): What was that at bar 42? And do you have to use that much treble?
----
Me: "how'd I sound?"
2nd ex-wife (attorney/non-musician): "when did you get that bass? How much did you pay for that? What the hell are you thinking?!?"
----
Me: "how'd I sound?"
current g/f (artist/sculptor): "great, but you should turn up some."

Me later- "Dude, can I crash at your place?
