SIT's "Silencer" Strings

Greg,

I was wondering if you've ever tried a set of SIT's Silencers?

I'd be curious to hear your opinion (especially on a Roscoe)

They're the half-rounds, right?

As far as I can tell. They claim to "inverse" wind them. There are 100 terms used to describe strings like these "Half-Round" "Compression Wound" "Roller Wound". So who knows what the process is ?

I don't know if they'd match well with the Bart CB's in my standard or not .

I know they're fairly new to SIT so I don't know if Greg's ran across 'em yet or not.

But I had to ask.

God Bless, Ray

Nope, I've never tried 'em. I'll see if they'll comp me a set next time I order so I can try 'em out worry free (and free free)

Even if you put them on a Suhr or similar 34" scale bass, I'd still like to know what they're about comparatively to the others.

I'd hate to invest in a "special" XL length set only to go BLEACK! ya know?

just a little more info.. they have been around for quite a while actually. they were the product of a mistake, of somehow putting roundwound strings through some other machine, and they got flattened, and for the heck of it, they passed it along to a few bass buddies to try out, and the guys actually liked them, or something.. that's the story i was told at a NAMM show a few years ago..

If the theory states goofing up = innovation, I'm a very "innovative" bassist.
