Thumbs up Thank You, Veterans!!

And we shouldn't let today go by without thanking all those military members who have served or are currently serving. Thanks for all that you have done and sacrificed!!

Jerry - do you still have those sound clips with you playing the various military anthems? We need some "Anchors Aweigh".

(Sorry to the other branches, but I grew up a Navy Brat.)

+1000000

my day job is designing cognitive training systems, mostly for military. Last 2 years I've been focused on counter-ied training. I have the honor of working with a lot of current and retired military. Thank you all for your service.

And right now am sitting in the parking lot of the "Home for Heroes" building at the VA hospital for a 1:30pm downbeat on a pro bono gig. Least I can do.

Hear, hear, Greg! Total echo from an Army brat. Thanks to everyone, and even though reading a bass forum is something he'll never do, a special thanks to my Dad...retired 1SG who still has a command voice strong enough to induce diaper changes.

Here's an Armed Forces medley from a gig I played last year at the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey (we'll be back this year too). This absolutely sends a chill up and down my spine.

That's a great thing you're doing, Todd. And it goes beyond just your time, you're also gearing up to make playing those kind of shows even easier to do. Kudos to you, too!

Perfect, Jerry!! I'm sure you had similar experiences as I did growing up. There was never a shortage of ceremonies featuring a band playing this kind of stuff. Hearing this puts me right back out on the deck of a ship watching the grown ups dressed to the nines do their thing. Now my mouth is watering for one of those great cakes they always had after such affairs... that and "bug juice". I'm sure it was just cool aid of some sort, but I could drink a ton of that stuff as a kid.

Of course, that all ignores the real business of what these folks were/are trained and prepared to do. God Bless 'Em!

Thanks for this post Greg, we easily take our freedom for granted too often.

My father was Coast Guard. We have a large Air Force base on Cape Cod, with a main gate just a 1/4 mile from my office.

We are grateful.

Coast Guard? That's almost like the military!

I KID, I KID, I KID!

It's the Air Force that we should all make fun of, right?!?

This one somehow slipped by me. I'd like to add a sincere thank you to all Vets from someone who can't serve. You guys/gals are tops in my book.

God Bless, Ray
