Warwick introduced this really cool semi-hollow bass (Warwick Star Bass II
) a couple years ago, and we never really sold very many. Sorry for the horrible picture, that was taken before I had honed my photography skills a bit. Warwick has some better pics on their site
(although that's not this actual bass like my photo is). Most folks have probably never heard one, so here goes. It's got a very vintage sort of semi-hollow bass tone that is VERY cool. Here it is on a quick snippet of The Beatles "Come Together"
. Cameron laid down the bass bass part, and I did the melody part through an EBS BASS-IQ envelope filter
. Since the Bass-IQ pretty well obscures the bass tone, here's the track without the melody part
, as well.
Cameron's part was all neck pickup with the tone rolled off about halfway. My part (not that you can tell much) was all bridge pickup with the tone wide open.
I have to advertise this for a crazy price ($3799), but just add it to the shopping cart to see a MUCH more reasonable price. Shhhhh...
