I thought you might enjoy this tune I recorded with my fretless Zon Sonus Special. I kinda like the tone http://www.folkina.com/audio/FOLK_IN..._Elizabeta.mp3
Hope all is well with you.

Is that you on percussion, as well? What sort of drum is it? |

You'll have to send me photos of you dancing with a table in your teeth
Yeah, I put down the percussion track. That's a doumbek, the goblet-shaped hand drum of North Africa and the Arab world. Wonderful instrument. That particular one is Egyptian, made by Hassan Abd-al Magd (I've probably butchered the spelling), he's like the Roscoe of doumbek makers, incredible craftsmanship, beautiful and great-sounding instrument. Maybe this weekend I'll grab a photo of that drum with the Zon.

What a mood setter! I'm going to eat at the "Greek Village" tonight! It's not as cool as the "Dancing Zora" but it's good food. |

Thanks again for sharing your clip. It sounds like you're bass playing has gotten even better since camp! Isn't it cool to see camp influence what/how you learn even all this time later? I LOVE it. I haven't been back since, but you have, right? I'm hoping to make it to a reunion camp sometime in the next 1-2 years. Ideally, I'd like to go when Cameron is going, too. I probably learn more from him learning things than anything else... |

I've got Ken Smith Compressorwounds on it. DR Sunbeams actually have TOO much mwah on that bass, the Smiths sit just right.
There's a tube mixer channel, set flat. No EQ, no compression, no effects. In fact, the engineer listened to the track and said "well, I don't need to EQ that!"

Beautiful bass man, love it! I always dug Joe's stuff, great sound, and feels wonderful.
