Aguilar DB750 vs AG500

Hey Justin,
I was just wondering which amp you prefer. I have a DB750 but i'm not sure I love it. I am considering switching over to the AG500. I think the lower wattage and solid stateness might be more my style. Also, have you ever played any old acoustic amps? I found an old 1x15 combo, model 118, that sounds amazing.

I love the old acoustic amps. I have a 370 head that I love. The combos like you mentioned sound stellar. I like the AG500 a lot. Use it in LA for around-town stuff. It's an awesome tone, man. Just a very different beast. If you like a faster sound, that's the amp for you. I have a DB751 which is great, because the EQ is more active kinda like the AG500, so I find the sound to have more focus.

I played a 751 for a show in Hollywood, and I was pretty impressed. I think using my tonehammer in front of the 750 sort of gives me a 751 sound. I'm also using a, Damage Control Liquid Blues in front of the tonehammer.

It's made for guitar, but it sounds really great for bass. It has a clarity knob so you can blend your clean tone back in. I highly, highly recommend you check it out.
