So, Im learning to play and i'm teaching myself, how do you feel about being taught to play rather than figuring how to play on your own? Did you ever take lessons?

(BTW, i do practice scales, reading music, etc.)

Lots of info about this in the forum, please do a search. However:

I took some lessons, yeah. They were great. I don't have a super strong opinion about not taking lessons, it all depends on what you want to do. If you want to play in a grindcore band that sounds like Carcass/Death, or a shoegaze band that sounds like MBV/Swervedriver, maybe lessons aren't as much on the menu. If you want to play a bunch of stuff and be flexible, a fast learner, have great time, etc. then perhaps some lessons would do you well.

Oh wow...there's a few, but they already have bassists or don't exist any more. I think I'd rather leave that question unanswered and maybe say that the dream band is something that exists in my head, not in reality.

Best,
JMJ
