Boost pedal?

Hey Justin. I've recently gotten into using effect pedals. Mostly because of this forum. I noticed that when I do run a long cable to my lil' board, back to my amp, I have to turn my input gain much higher on my amp to achieve my desired gain. Much higher than when I don't use effects. Would I benefit from a Boost Line Driver? Not sure if this is what I need. If so, is there a spot where it should go? Beginning? End?

Yup. Go for it. Pigtronix clean boost, MXR Micro Amp, whatever. I put mine near the end when I use one, but I'm not sure that there's a standard way.
