You laugh, but I'd like to see you play it

Me, I prefer my bad bass playing a little less frantic:

Thank you. Love that video on so many levels.

Check out this video of Michael Hedges and his guitarharp: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JTC7kPZZmuM
The instrument is equally (if not more) absurd, but he actually knows how to play it.

"What should I do for the video?"

"Ahhh I don't know, Frank... just beat the living hell out of the thing for a few minutes. If anyone questions it we'll just say they're musically closed minded or something"

I think there are a lot more, um, bad bassists on any amount of strings than good ones. But who cares? It's a funny video, and that's what's important.

well I can see why the guitar is a "Unique 10-string 11-string" instrument....
some people just don't get it obviously....

I'm fairly certain the video was meant to be hilarious. Like, there's no way anyone who was sane would actually be sold by that. Unless the selling point was that it was hilarious. In which event, mission accomplished.

Nice find, J.

The greatest part though is how long it goes on for. Anybody can make godawful noise for 30 seconds, how about five minutes or more? It goes from hilariously funny, to not as funny, to kind of sad, to "how long is this damn thing" and then subsequently back to hilariously funny again by virtue of the guy's persistence.

Oh, and just so everyone knows - in the future bad bass playing duties will be performed by robots:

Man, I presumed this was a joke. I googled the guy, however, and found his website: http://sanbass.com/

It's not a joke, he's just a world-class idiot.

Thanks for sharing this JMJ, I hadn't laughed that hard in days.
