Hey Justin how is the tour going? I just wanted to know if there is any advice you can give me, about learning the fretboard and learning to play songs by ear? Thanks man

What was the first song you learned to play on the bass?

Endless gleeful and unfettered repetition and practice. There's no shortcuts! Play along with everything you can find.

First song? I dunno - maybe a Beatles tune? I don't remember.

thanks man How long did it take you to get a hang of playing by ear accurately? How long did it take you memorize the fretboard?
