Have you worked with Tree Adams?

Hey Justin,

I'm a huge fan. I've been lurking around in your forum for a while know, good stuff!

Have you worked with Tree Adams, in particularly on the tunes for the Showtime series "Californication"? On his myspace it says he uses some of Becks musicians, and I was wondering if it was you. I love the songs and especially the bass lines and tones. If it is not you, do you know who it is?

HI Dan,
Yes. I work with Tree every so often. One of the coolest guys I know in the business. We've done everything from album stuff to video games to TV. And yes, I worked with him on Californication, a real honor. It's probably fair to say that I helped create the initial theme back in season one. Good times!

I love the theme song, especially the bass! How did you go about getting that tone? Did you think about how it would sound on TV when you were recording?

I'm really not sure! I think I just used a DI box. Not much thought went into it, we just jammed it out. Came out nice, though. Thanks!
