I heard that you played with Gnarls Barkley.

Is that true?

For a minute. I put the original band together in early '06: Background vocals, string quartet, full rhythm section, etc. We rehearsed intensely and put together the whole show, including some ambitious programming and ProTools action. I did their first ever gig at The Roxy in LA, then played Coachella in April '06. At that point, I left, and handed over my job to Cedric (formerly of Remy Zero, also tours with Alanis). That's when production rehearsals (and puppets :-)) began for Beck's "The Information" album and tour cycle.

How was it working with Danger Mouse and Cee-Lo Green?

They are cool dudes. Cee-Lo is a very gracious, kind man with a golden voice. Danger (Brian) is a very sweet, thoughtful, sharp guy. A very deep musicologist, with great taste.

Wow. I saw them at the Bowery in NYC on their first tour, and they blew me away. You put together a hell of a band. Plus the fact that they came out in full 80's regalia playing "The Final Countdown" didn't hurt either.

During a jazz gig, it was time to play So What. The keyboard player says, "This one's all about the bass."

The drummer says, "All about the bass? That must be why it's called So What."

Wow. That's awesome. I'm glad you have a little forum section. I had never heard your name before, but now I see that you've worked on some of the music I appreciate the most - Tori Amos and Gnarls Barkley.
