I dislike active mode, so I just bypass that entirely and pull out the battery.

I don't know it's worth the trouble, actually.

I would love to get the red guy, but I think I dig the oly white a bit more. I'd take it and put a set of Barts in it. Do a P/J.

Thanks for the input. I found the active gives a lot of options soundwise, but seeing your pedal collection, you probably dont need more options! lol Does it sound like a precision in passive? I played a new MIA, loved the sound and loved the matte neck finish so much I went home and sanded the Jag. Much improved for speed with sweaty mitts. 220 grit = silky smoooooth.

Thanks again for answering; bass is such a neat community where else do the pros help out like this?

Highly, highly doubt it.
While the P/J Jaguar seems to be a fan favourite, JMJ always seems dissatisfied with it (stating a while back that he wasn't really digging the tone or the pickup combo all that much, IIRC)

I still need to fiddle with the instrument I had made. Great conceptually, but I think it's simply an electronics/pickups finessing process that needs to occur. Wish I had more time.

I'm telling you Justin, you need to have a semi-hollow body jag made. that would be a first ever i think.

How are you feeling about your modified Jaguar now?

It's cool. Still needs tweaks, but it's pretty rad.

Of course, I can't judge whether you know if it's worth the trouble, but from a fan/bassist's perspective when you started into "Survivalism" live in PA, I could *hear* off the bat the difference between the P/J and a J/J through the FOH sound before I saw the front of the bass. So it that sense it's pretty obvious.

Nice. Glad to hear from your vantage.

I still just need to tweak a few things, but man that bass is fun to play.

Best,
JMJ

I also hope that Fender will bring out a signature Jaguar.
I'd buy one in a heartbeat.

But I doubt they would bring out a signature.
....
Or would they?
There isn't a Jaguar Artist Series atm... so crossing my fingers.

Maybe we must mod our own Jaguars.
