NIN basses on eBay

It's been hard not to browse Trent's basses on eBay this week. I remember in an old thread you mentioned some of his studio mainstays including Precisions and a Precision Lyte. Wondered if you knew the pedigree of either of these:

Do you know if he had his studio Precisions (not necessarily these) modified, or if they were pretty much stock? Always admired his tones, especially the really fat sounds on With Teeth. And since Lytes can be picked up on the cheap, I start wondering if adding one to the arsenal would be worthwhile.

That Precision Lyte looks stock to me. Great basses, but can see these will go for a lot more than normal just because it belonged to NIN...

edit: I used to have one and wish I never sold it. Great basses!!

I have a white P Lyte. But I had to gut the horrid pickups and electronics and put a QP/Ultrajazz in it. I couldn't get anything resembling balls with the stockers, but it really came to life with a couple overwound pickups on it. Once you do that, I think it sounds as good as any Fender. Wouldn't do it with Trent's old bass, though.

No mods, just stock stuff. Trent has some Deluxe P's as well (with the p pickup and humbucker in the bridge position), but loves his P-Bass lytes. The ones he's selling are probably just the backups, I know he's not getting rid of the mainstays...that goes for anything he's selling, by the way.
