if you search the rest of this forum, you will find tons of stuff about practicing and improving as a musician. jmj's not about to recommend a method book or anything like that, but there's tons of stuff on here about jamming with other musicians, playing along with your favorite records, and plenty of other kind of non-traditional practice techniques to keep you busy.
